Precession Vortex Flowmeter: Make Every Gas Measurement Count

Precession vortex flowmeter delivers accurate gas measurement with temperature and pressure compensation for reliable industrial applications
Reliable Measurement for Gas Networks and Industry
Accurate gas measurement is essential for natural gas transmission and city gas distribution. Changes in pressure and temperature can affect readings, and billing. Xinhang’s precession vortex flowmeter combines flow detection with built-in temperature and pressure sensing. It automatically compensates for temperature, pressure and compression factor to provide standard-condition flow data. This improves gas accounting. It suits natural gas, city gas and industrial custody transfer.

How Precession Technology Works
The precession vortex flowmeter uses spiral inlet vanes to create a swirling gas flow. In the expansion section, the vortex develops a precession frequency directly proportional to flow rate. A piezoelectric sensor detects this frequency. Built-in temperature and pressure sensors send data to the microprocessor, which applies automatic compensation and calculates standard-condition flow. This reduces manual correction and separate instruments. Nominal diameters range from DN15 to DN200, with pressure options of 1.6, 2.5, 4.0 and 6.3 MPa.
Integrated Features for Stable Operation
With no moving mechanical parts, the precession vortex flowmeter is designed for reliable service. Its compact structure integrates flow, temperature and pressure detection. Dual detection improves signal strength and suppresses vibration interference. The LCD displays working-condition flow, standard-condition flow, total volume, pressure and temperature. EEPROM memory preserves settings and stores yearly flow data. Pulse, 4–20 mA and RS485 outputs support connection to control networks.
Applications That Improve Gas Management
The precession vortex flowmeter suits natural gas transmission stations, city gas networks, industrial billing and custody transfer points. A gas distributor can use compensated standard-flow readings to compare supply and consumption. At industrial boilers, the meter monitors combustion gas use. In petroleum, chemical and power plants, it measures process gas. Other applications include coal-bed methane and shale gas. The medium temperature range is -20°C to +80°C, with IP65 protection.
Practical Choice for Accurate Gas Flow Data
A precession vortex flowmeter helps address uncertain gas accounting, maintenance demands, vibration interference and difficult system integration. It supports external 24 VDC power or a built-in 3.6 V lithium battery. System accuracy classes after temperature and pressure compensation are 1.0% and 1.5%. ExdIIBT4 and ExiaIICT4 explosion-proof options are available for suitable hazardous areas. Its optimized flow path minimizes pressure loss and energy use. Xinhang offers an integrated solution.
